UP Election 2017 First Phase
2. In this first phase a large number of Muslims
have voted for the SP-Congress alliance in western Uttar Pradesh, according to
reports. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is not the first choice for the Muslims
voters
3.
Mustaqim, a papaya vendor in Budhana, was one of
the first to arrive at a polling booth in his area. He said that "I can bring a cycle in home, but not an elephant,"
said Mustaqim.
So that Muslims shows their leaning to
SP – Congress Alliance that is Alarm for Bahujan Samaj Party
or Mayawati.

3. Securing lots of Muslim support in
Western Uttar Pradesh is a positive sign
for the Samajwadi Party.
4. 4. The Samajwadi Parti can now hope that this trend
will continue in other parts of the state. That said, translating Muslim votes
into seats in western Uttar Pradesh remains a challenge for Akhilesh Yadav as
the region hardly has a solid Yadav.
5. 5. Jats are
angry with the BJP for not fulfilling their demand of reservation in government
jobs.
So this time after first phase voting our
reports shows that SP will get highest votes in this election.
The election campaign to be organized by
Priyanka Gandhi in Amethi and Raebareli has
been keeping local Congress workers on tenterhooks. The plan to reach Amethi on the date February 13
and begin the campaign on February 14 has been delayed because of local
complications. Sources say that the decision to reschedule the dates took place
after Priyanka received a different feedback from the local Congress workers.
Sources says that there are three seats in
the family stronghold over which there is a friendly fight between the SP and
Congress, which has complicated the further programe. “How can you expect our
leader not to campaign for the Congress candidates even if they are engaged in
a friendly fight,” said a source.
Some leaders in the Raebareli say that the alliance of SP &
Congress has benefited the Congress in the remaining part of the state but hasn’t helped them in the Raebareli
and Amethi. It is because of these considerations that the final programme of
the most charismatic Gandhi is getting delayed. The feeling in the local unit
is that a couple of expelled SP leaders, who are also contesting the elections
on different symbols, may spoil the chance of the Congress candidates, which
would ultimately reflect badly on the charisma of Priyanka.
Lastly, there is a feeling of the party that Priyanka should not be
overexposed in UP so that the mistake of 2012 is not repeated in 2017 also.
Priyanka is expected to contest Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and the Congress,
till then, would like to keep its most explosive powder dry. So a limited,
defined and short campaign burst is being expected from Priyanka this time
around, which, ‘if it happens’, would be different from 2012, when she held
more than 200 nukad sabhas in both the constituencies.
